National Chambal Gharial Sanctuary is located at Palighat village of Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan is a tourist spot in Ranthambore. Chambal river safari or Crocodile safari is one of the best option after jungle safari. The river is a wonderful site to explore the marine and avian wildlife.
The Chambal river is approximately 45 Km away from Ranthambore and about an hours journey. The area was famous for dacoits in the 1970s. The crocodiles of the Chambal river are known as Gharials, which are rare and lesser in numbers than tigers in the forest. Therefore the area has been classified as protected by the government of India.
The National Chambal Sanctuary area was established as a river sanctuary with the length of about 435 Km. The sanctuary is spread over three states, vide Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The Sanctuary starts from Kota Barrage in Rajasthan. Chambal River flows in the northern and southern part of Rajasthan and its course is through Sawai Madhopur. In the next section, the Chambal River sanctuary covers Morena in Madhya Pradesh and Dholpur of Rajasthan.
Gharial and the Crocodile are the main attractions of the National Chambal Sanctuary. If you are on Ranthambore tour and are wildlife enthusiast, Chambal River is a wonderful tourist spot for exploring amphibians and aquatic animals in the natural habitat. Chambal River is a shelter of rare crocodile species "Gharial" and the National Aquatic Animal Gangetic Dolphin.
Most of the vegetation found around Chambal river is small and thorny and there are grass patches on both sides of the river. Among the flora found near the Chambal river include Palash (flame of the forest, Butea monosperma),khair (Acacia catechu),ber (Indian plum, Ziziphus mauritiana),churel (Indian elm tree, Holoptelia integrifolia) and babul(Egyptian acacia or thorny acacia).

Terms & Conditions
- The confirmation is always subject to availability.
- No refund will be initiated for the unutilized services that are mentioned in “What’s Included” section.
- The guest/s will not be eligible for any refund if the tour is indefinitely postponed/ cancelled due to natural calamity, riots, political calamities or any other unforeseen calamities.
- All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice.
- A minimum deposit of 30% 0f the total package cost is required as the booking amount at the time of booking.
- In all circumstances taking care of your baggage and personal effects is your sole responsibility. We shall not be liable for any loss of baggage or personal effects.
- The standard check-in / check-out time is 12:00 Hrs. We can always make a request for early check-in if required but we do not guarantee it as it totally depends upon the policy of the hotel and the availability of the rooms.
Remarks
- Base category of rooms will be provided in each hotel. If guest/s wishes to opt for the upgraded category of rooms additional charges will be applicable for the same.
- Extra Mattress means roll away mattress which is on floor.
- Early booking of package makes the guest/s eligible for the best available discount which will be valid for the limited period of time. To enjoy benefits it is mandatory to book the package within the given time period.
- The hotel rooms are generally allocated on twin sharing basis in standard rooms and the third bed is often a roll-away mattress put in a twin bedded room if in case three people wants to accommodate in the same room..
- The given rates are only valid for Indian Nationals and it is not the specific rate of the package. The package cost may vary for person to person depending upon their requirements and their time of travel.
- It is mandatory to carry the photo identification in the form of driving license, Voter ID card, Aadhar Card, Pan card etc during the tour.
- If any deviations are made after booking of the package or in between during the tour then the charges will be applicable for the same and guest has to bear the same accordingly.
- If guest avails the additional facilities like laundry, telephone, mini bar, etc. then the same has to be paid by the guest/s before their check out.
Payment Policy
- The 30% of the total package cost has to be deposited as the token amount for booking the desired package.
- The payment for booking the package can be made by directly depositing cash in the company’s bank account or by any other mode of transfer like NEFT, IMPS, RTGS, Internet Banking etc.
- In case of the payment done via company’s online portal the following surcharges will be applicable:-
- For the payment done by Debit card an additional surcharge of 01% will be applicable to the net payable amount.
- For the payment done by Credit card an additional surcharge of 2.5% will be applicable to the net payable amount.
- No charges will be levied on any other mode of payment.
