Places to visit in Ranthambore

  • Ranthambore National Park

    Ranthambore National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the world’s best known wilderness areas. Located 14 kilometres from Sawai Madhopur and at the junction of some of the geologically oldest mountain ranges - the Aravallis and Vindyas - Ranthambore offers some of the finest opportunities for sighting the magnificent tiger in the wild. A mix of rolling hills and crags, and meadows, lakes and rivulets, this dry-deciduous forest system is home to an incredible variety of flora and fauna. Apart from the tiger, you can also spot sloth bear, leopard, caracal, jackal, fox, hyena and mongoose at Ranthambore.

  • Ranthambore Fort

    Ranthambore Fort lies within the Ranthambore National Park, near the city of Sawai Madhopur, the park being the former hunting grounds of the Maharajahs of Jaipur until the time of India's Independence. It is a formidable fort having been a focal point of the historical developments of Rajasthan. The fort was held by the Chahamanas (Chauhans) until the 13th century, when the Delhi Sultanate captured it. In 2013, at the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee, Ranthambore Fort, along with 5 other forts of Rajasthan, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan.

  • Surwal Lake

    Surwal Lake is a seasonal lake and home to almost 300 species of birds. About 10 km from Sawai Madhopur Township, is the Surwal Lake, a quiet sojourn amidst the dense forests of Ranthambore. The Lake is not situated inside the Ranthambore National Park and is free to access even when the national park is not open and there are not many restrictions for visiting and bird watching as in the national park. The lake is beautiful in the winter months between October and March with plenty of water and lush vegetation surrounding it. This is the time when many migratory birds fly into this serene habitat and the other water bodies both inside and around the Ranthambore National Park.

  • Malik Talao

    At a distance of 6.5 km from Ranthambore National Park Entry Gate and 4.5 km from Padam Talao, Malik Talao is the smallest of the three lakes in Ranthambore National Park. It is one of the popular wildlife places to visit in Ranthambore. Malik Talao is best known as a haven for birds and it attracts a large number of visitors. The lake is quite important to the wildlife of the park as it serves as the source of water and food for the animals and birds inhabited there. This small yet scenic lake is also home to the Marsh Crocodiles. Herds of wild boar and groups of peacocks, eagles and various migrated birds can be seen browsing along the banks of the lake. Kingfishers, egrets, herons, ibis, storks and cranes are some of the commonly spotted birds at Malik Talao making it the perfect place for bird watching in Ranthambore. Tourists can visit this lake during their Jungle safari only.

  • Padam Talao

    At a distance of 500 m from Ranthambore Fort, and 5 km from Ranthambore National Park Entry Gate, the Padam Talao is a large and beautiful lake situated inside Ranthambore National Park. It gets its name from the lotus flowers that bloom in the lake. The Padam Talao is a favorite watering hole of the animals of Ranthambore. Tigers, Leopards, Deer, Monkeys and Peacocks can be seen drinking at the lakes edge during the early morning and late evening. Machans or huts on observation posts near the Padam Talao are an excellent platform from where visitors can see the animals in their natural habitat. Genghis, one of the legendary tigers of Ranthambore was famous for hunting deer that came to the lakeside to drink. The hunting lodge called Jogi Mahal is situated on the banks of the Padam Talao.

Jeep and Gypsy Safari in Ranthambore National Park

Being a highly honored tiger reserve in India, the Ranthambore National Park is visited by millions of wildlife enthusiasts from all over the world. The wildlife safari in Ranthambore is an excellent way to explore the forest enriched with wild predators like royal Bengal tigers and leopards. Looking for the sight of a tiger following their trails and suddenly spot a tiger just about a few feet away is enough to make your blood cold and raise your heartbeat.

The Wildcat Excursion administration provides safari service in two shifts - one in the morning and one in the afternoon in the two types of safari vehicles, a Jeep and a Canter. There are 20 Jeeps and 20 Canters are allowed to enter in the park in one shift. The Jeep is a 6-seaters vehicle open from all sides and the Canter is a 20-seaters bus which is also open from all sides. Safari vehicles are open from all sides for the best viewing experience of the wildlife. The national park is divided into the 10 eco-tourism zones to make sure the tourist flow evenly distributed throughout the forest.

Each vehicle is allotted a particular safari zone and any vehicle can't change its zone after entering the forest as well as has to move only on the fix safari tracks. However, there is a good network of safari tracks in every zone to trail the tiger or simply explore the zone. The zone is allotted randomly to each vehicle by the forest officials at the time of entry into the park. Normally, the tourism zone once allotted can't be changed after the allotment. However, your zone can be changed on the special request and after paying an extra fee of around 1000 INR, but the discretion of changing the zone solely depends upon the park officials.

Terms & Conditions
  • The confirmation is always subject to availability.
  • No refund will be initiated for the unutilized services that are mentioned in “What’s Included” section.
  • The guest/s will not be eligible for any refund if the tour is indefinitely postponed/ cancelled due to natural calamity, riots, political calamities or any other unforeseen calamities.
  • All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice.
  • A minimum deposit of 30% 0f the total package cost is required as the booking amount at the time of booking.
  • In all circumstances taking care of your baggage and personal effects is your sole responsibility. We shall not be liable for any loss of baggage or personal effects.
  • The standard check-in / check-out time is 12:00 Hrs. We can always make a request for early check-in if required but we do not guarantee it as it totally depends upon the policy of the hotel and the availability of the rooms.

Remarks

  • Base category of rooms will be provided in each hotel. If guest/s wishes to opt for the upgraded category of rooms additional charges will be applicable for the same.
  • Extra Mattress means roll away mattress which is on floor.
  • Early booking of package makes the guest/s eligible for the best available discount which will be valid for the limited period of time. To enjoy benefits it is mandatory to book the package within the given time period.
  • The hotel rooms are generally allocated on twin sharing basis in standard rooms and the third bed is often a roll-away mattress put in a twin bedded room if in case three people wants to accommodate in the same room..
  • The given rates are only valid for Indian Nationals and it is not the specific rate of the package. The package cost may vary for person to person depending upon their requirements and their time of travel.
  • It is mandatory to carry the photo identification in the form of driving license, Voter ID card, Aadhar Card, Pan card etc during the tour.
  • If any deviations are made after booking of the package or in between during the tour then the charges will be applicable for the same and guest has to bear the same accordingly.
  • If guest avails the additional facilities like laundry, telephone, mini bar, etc. then the same has to be paid by the guest/s before their check out.

Payment Policy

  • The 30% of the total package cost has to be deposited as the token amount for booking the desired package.
  • The payment for booking the package can be made by directly depositing cash in the company’s bank account or by any other mode of transfer like NEFT, IMPS, RTGS, Internet Banking etc.
  • In case of the payment done via company’s online portal the following surcharges will be applicable:-
    • For the payment done by Debit card an additional surcharge of 01% will be applicable to the net payable amount.
    • For the payment done by Credit card an additional surcharge of 2.5% will be applicable to the net payable amount.
    • No charges will be levied on any other mode of payment.

Confirmation
